Denis Onyango bounces back from retirement, returns to Uganda Cranes poles

Denis Onyango out of retirement, back in the Uganda Cranes

Report coming onto Boom Uganda Sports desk purports that former Uganda Cranes captain and goalkeeper, Denis Onyango is out of retirement and back in the national team.

The report that has gone viral is yet to be confirmed by Onyango and the football governing body in the country FUFA was prompted by the skipper’s tweet a few minutes ago.

“Uganda Cranes, guess who’s back?!!..” Onyango posted on twitter.

Since his tweet, Ugandans have been overwhelmed with many believing he is coming out of retirement to play for the national team yet again.

In the post, Onyango who currently turns out for Mamelodi Sundowns could be primed for another shot in the country’s colours.

Onyango retired from the national team in April 2021 at the time penning down a letter to the federation.

“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from International Football. After much consideration, my family, managers, and I decided it was in my best interest to hang my gloves on my beloved Cranes. Big thanks to every Ugandan over the years,” Onyango said.

Since his departure, the National Team has been struggling to find who exactly fits his feat. Boom Sport snoops are on the Football Governing body headquarters in Mengo to gather more about this report.

Will have you posted.
