Understanding the truth!

Uganda’s capital, Kampala turned into a bloody city in November last year when the National Unity Platform- NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine was arrested in Luuka district during his campaign trail.

Bobi Wine was arrested by Uganda Police on orders of Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for allegedly going defying the COVID-19 guidelines.

His arrest however brought to what Mr. Museveni didn’t expect as hundreds surfaced on the city streets to protest against Bobi’s arrest.

More than 50 people were reported shot and killed during a government crackdown on the streets of the capital.

Officials defended the use of live fire, saying the police and army were responding to rioters. However many questions were left unanswered which prompted the BBC Africa Eye to investigate what exactly happened in Kampala.

The BBC Africa Eye carried out forensic analysis of 400 videos shot on mobile phone handsets and spoke to 30 witnesses who, the broadcaster, reported corroborated accounts that some of the victims were killed in cold blood by Mr. Museveni’s bloody government.
