VIDEO: NUP's Mathias Mpuuga, Shamim Malende take oath as MPs of 11th Parliament

National Unity Platform’s member Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba has joined the list of other Member of Parliament that have today Wednesday, May 19 taken oath as Members of the 11th Parliament. 

Mpuuga has been sworn in as the new Member of Parliament for Nyendo- Mukungwe in Masaka district. 

Mpuuga who couldn’t keep calm has taken to his socials to inform his Supporters about the achievement and promised to serve them. 

“I have this morning took my oath as the MP for Nyendo- Mukungwe- another phase in the struggle to serve and better our motherland.

“Greatly indebted to people of Nyendo-Mukungwe and my party NUP. Re-energized to carry on the struggle.” Mpuuga posted. 

In the other news, National Unity Platform’s staunch member and lawyer Shamim Malende has also sworn in as the new Kampala Woman Member of Parliament as the Swearing in of MPs enters day three. 

Malende who defeated FDC’s Dr Stellah Nyanzi in the 2021 parliamentary elections has joined other NUP Members in the 11th parliament after taking an oath and promising to serve her people and country tirelessly.

Other NUP Members who have taken oath include Party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, Hilary Kiyaga aka Dr Hilderman, Singer Geoffrey Lutaaya, Kazibwe Bashir, Joyce Bagala, Kawaalya Abubaker among others.
