Kampala Woman Mp also one of the lawyers for Muhammed Ssegirinya and Allan Ssewanyana Shamim Malende has disclosed that her life is in danger after receiving many threats from unkown people.
Ms Malende informed the Masaka Grade One Magistrate Grace Wakoli about the threats.
“The situation is not good, I have been receiving some threats. It is hard to lay my fingers on the actual people because I have been trained on several occasions. There have been unkown people contacting and telling me to be careful because my life is in danger,” She said.
Malende didn’t stop at informing the magistrate but also reported the matter to police.
“I have opened a case at Nansana station because that’s where I was at the time. I wanted it to be on the court record that my life is under threat.
“What we want is the state to expedite the investigation and if there is any avenue for the review of their bail conditions, option of appeal, we are exploring that,” Malende.
According to state prosecutor Richard Birivumbuka, investigations are have already been completed and the next step will be High Court trial.
It shall be noted that on October 21, 2021, Malende was attacked bu three men and her car tyres deflated while on her way to Masaka court to represent the legislators.
Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana are facing three counts of murder and one attempted murder.
The two are suspected for having killed Francis Kizza, Sulaiman Kakooza and Tadeo Kiyimba and attempted to murder Ronald Ssebyato a resident of Sseetala village, Masaka city.
