Boom.ug understands that over four people have been arrested by the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) over repeated phone calls they made during and after the shooting of outgoing Minister for Works and Transport Gen Edward Katumba Wamala which left his daughter Brenda Nantongo Wamala and his driver Haruna  Kayondo dead.

According to a reliable source from within JIC and Joint Operations Committees, two CCTV cameras showed the four suspects speaking on the phone as they fled the scene of the crime. 

The intelligence team inclusive of the military got printouts of all telephone calls made during and after the attempted assassination on Gen Katumba’s life.

The team found out that the suspects were in constant communication between 8:25am and 9:15am. 

“We resolved to get telephone printouts of all nearby Telecom masts. We noticed that four people were in constant communication at the time of the incident and we tracked the owners and arrested them.” Source from JIC revealed to Boom.ug.

The four suspects are being detained at Special Investigations Division (SID) in Kireka. 

Investigation into the shooting continues.
