On Wednesday evening, the family of Gen Edward Katumba Wamala organized a service at his home in Bulabira, Najjera to pray for his late daughter Brenda Nantongo Wamala who was shot dead on Tuesday morning in Kisaasi.
The prayers started at 5 O’clock and were attended by people from the central government, National Resistance Movement members, outgoing ministers, Members of Parliament, Buganda Kingdom representatives, and Commander of SFC Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
The service was lead by the Namirembe Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira who argued government to tighten the security system of the country to save Ugandans. He noted that guns are finishing people’s lives.
“Government please check the country security. You have to make Uganda and its people safe because guns which are supposed to save us, are now taking our lives,” Bishop Luwalira stated.
Brenda siblings described her as a jolly person who had become another mother to them.
“We lost our mom. She is like our mother’s photocopy. Very kind, very loving, and always smiling,” the late’s brother remarked.
Brenda will be laid to rest on Thursday 3rd June in Kikandwa, Kasawo Mukono.
