NUP SG David Lewis Rubongoya released on Police bond

National Unity Platform (NUP) secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya was earlier today arrested.

According to police, Rubongoya was arrested on cases related to Omoro by elections.

Police claims that Rubongoya threatened violence ahead of the recently concluded Omoro County by-election.

Police through it’s Deputy Police spokesperson, SP Patrick Onyango, revealed that Rubongoya was being held at Natete police station.

While addressing the media at Natete Police station, NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi trashed the case pinned on Rubongoya calling them fake.

Joel Ssenyonyi say if the are arresting Rubongoya they should arrested all NUP members who were in Omoro County campaigning for NUP candidate Mr Simon Tolit Akecha

“Those are fake claims. How can you arrested Rubongoya alone yet we were all in Omoro. If you want to arrested, they should arrested all of use because we were all in Omoro,” Ssenyonyi said.

However, BOOM.UG reporter has learnt that Rubongoya had been granted bail on June 22, 2022, at 7:25pm.
