President Yoweri Museveni has been exposed to the deadly Covid-19 virus while in Addis Ababa, Abu Dhabi and Dubai respectively where he was on official work as well as attending the Dubai Expo in which his Uganda was taking part.
According to Physician Joseph Okia, three of Museveni’s aides tested positive on their return in the country.
“Following President @KagutaMuseveni ‘s recent return from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa, three presidential aides have tested positive for #COVID19UG. This despite best efforts and measures including daily PCR testing and full vaccination,” Joseph Okia tweeted
Additionally, Okia added that the aides have been isolated.
“The staff have been isolated and are receiving care. The President and other member of the team tested negative and will be retested.This highlights the continued difficulty of safe travel during the pandemic and the importance of testing all inbound and outbound traveller’s,” Joseph Okia added.
