Different politicians have sent their condolences to the fallen former journalist and Politician Jakana Naduuli.

Jakana was found dead at his home a few weeks after he was released from prison where he was accused of making tribalistic statements.

Different politicians have connected his death to the torture he said he went through while in prison.

According to Bobi Wine, Naduuli has died under unknown circumstances like other many Ugandans and it’s unfortunate.

“I have just learnt of the sudden, untimely death of our brother Jakana Sulayiman Nadduli, the son of Al Hajj Abdul Nadduli.
In March this year, he was involved in an accident that almost took his life. According to him, the people who knocked him were deliberately targeting his life.

“A few days ago, Jakana was abducted and spent several days under incommunicado detention. He told us that he was severely tortured in detention. Later he was produced before a court in Luwero and remanded to Butuntumula prison where he spent several weeks.

“Upon release from prison on bail, he resumed his work and has been actively speaking out against dictatorship and misrule.
It is therefore most unfortunate this morning to be informed that he died at his home! He joins very many critical Ugandans who have died under very unclear circumstances.

“My deepest condolences to his father Hon. Al Hajj Abdul Nadduli, his entire family and all Ugandans who are affected by this tragic news.
inna lillahi wa inallah-e-raji’oon,” Bobi Wine.

According to FDC founder Col. Kizza Besigye, Nadduli’s death cannot be separated from his immediate past treatment.

“Jakana Nadduli’s death cannot be separated from his immediate past treatment. It has to be related to the torture he went through,” Political activist Kizza Besigye.

“Those who kidnap, illegally detain, torture & kill Ugandans must answer for their heinous crimes. Any “suspect” must be lawfully managed. They must know that the long arm of justice will catch up with them- soon or later! That’s why.. Tuzukuke, Tweggate, Tulumbe, Twetaase!” Kizza added.
