COVID-19: Ministry of Health revises travel time

The Ministry of Health in Uganda has made some changes in the COVID-19 testing time prior to travel in and outside the country.

According to Dr. Henry G. Mwebesa the Director-General of health services, the testing time prior to travel in and outside Uganda was revised from 120 hours to 72 hours.

The Ministry in its press release of Tuesday, June 29, 2021, informed all the travellers arriving and departing from Uganda to have a covid19 test done within 72 hours from the day samples are collecting for testing effective July 3, 2021.

The Ministry further noted that the COVID-19 certificates must indicate travel as the intended purpose of the test.

As of today Uganda has 52,382 cumulative recoveries and 989 deaths.

The country also has 79,434 cumulative confirmed cases as of 27th July 2021.
