State House speaks out on Museveni sickness theories

Statehouse employees and the media department have on Sunday swung into action and panic as they attempt to diffuse circulating rumours about President Yoweri Museveni’s health.

Museveni has according to rumours been feeling unwell lately, with many social media users alleging that he and first son Muhoozi Kainerugaba have been airlifted out of the country for immediate specialised medical care after they developed complications.

Dr Monica Musenero, a cabinet minister who in the previous term as the presidential advisor on epidermics also quoted the tweet as he condemned it as fake news. Presidential Press secretary Lindah Nabusaayi on Sunday also quashed the rumours and revealed that the president is well and healthy.
