VIDEO: MP Joel Ssenyonyi troll Gen Elly Tumwine

Member of Parliament-MP for Nakawa West and National Unity Platform-NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi has trolled new senior presidential advisor on security issues Gen Elly Tumwine for advising president Museveni to retire. 

Through his Twitter account, Ssenyonyi has said that Tumwine is a hypocrite who is only advising Museveni to resign after his boss refused to give him a Ministerial position. 

“Gen Tumwiine has always been a staunch advocate of Mr.Museveni’s brutal regime. Now that he was dropped as Security Minister&UPDF MP&put on “Katebe” he’s beginning to tell Mr.Museveni what we’ve been telling him all along…to retire peacefully. Does he expect us to believe him??” Joel stressed.

During his swearing in and handover speech, Gen Tumwine said that he is not hungry for Ministerial positions adding that his new position is more bigger however he mentioned that for all the 35 years he has been in the regime, unlike others, he has only been minister for less than five years.

He shocked Ugandans when he advised Museveni to retire. Many have alleged that he feels used hence joining the group of those who want the president out. 

Ugandans have also reminded Gen Tumwine of November 2020 when he made a statement that upset many of them saying that he won’t be making those statements anymore and being used and dumped by his boss. During the “Free Bobi Wine” riots in Kampala which left at least 28 dead, and security personnel injured, Wamala said that police has a right to shoot and kill Ugandans.

“Police have a right to shoot you and kill you if you reach a certain level of violence Can I repeat? Police have a right to shoot you and you die for nothing…. do it at your own risk,” Tumwiine stated.
