Kayunga LC V seat: Battle for NUP flag continues as 14 show interest

National Unity Platform- NUP has released a list of fourteen (14) members who have shown interest in the Kayunga LC V seat. 

Members include Musoke Paul, Kyakulaga Micheal, Kato Abel, Senkubuge Rajab, Nabukera Mouren Peace, Simbwa Nakibinge, Serubiri Patrick, Nakanwagi Fatuma, Sebuuma Brian, Osilong Donald, Nakwede Harriet and media personality Katongole Dennis Omutongole. 

NUP will select one member who will represent them in the upcoming elections.

The Kayunga LC V seat is up for grab after the former chairperson Fefeka Serubogo’s death in June.

Serubogo was found hanging dead in a jackfruit tree near his home. 

ASP Chalres Twine, the CID spokes person confirmed that Fefeka committed suicide by hanging himself using a rope which broke his spinal code.

It was alleged that the deceased decided to take his life after being over harrassed by money lenders who were demanding for the money he took from them before 2021 elections.

According to those who were close to him, Fefeka took loans from money lenders to pay for the NUP ticket to contest for the position. The money was allegedly worth 15million.

“The city loan sharks have since been sending him messages threatening to harm his family and take his house if he didn’t pay their money and was living in total fear,” One of his close friends disclosed.
