Somber mood as Gen. Katumba Wamala attends daughter’s vigil

Former Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala has joined mourners at his home in Najjera after he was discharged from Medipal International Hospital in Kololo.

Katumba is evidenced looking strong. He has been spotted walking while holding his injured arm carefully from his chest.

It is a somber mood at his home in Najjera where his late 32 years old daughter Brenda Nantongo Wamala’s body is being prayed for. 

Mourners have been weeping since Tuesday after hearing news about her passing. Brenda will be buried on Thursday, June 3, 2021, in Kikandwa, Mukono district.

Upon his arrival at the vigil, an injured Gen Katumba viewed the body of his daughter, Brenda Nantongo.

“Thank you so much for being with us in these trying moments. We appreciate your time,” Katumba said.

Brenda breathed her last on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, along with driver Haruna Kayondo following an attempted assassination on Katumba’s life.
