NTV’s Andrew Kayamagero opens up about his painful COVID-19 battle

Many people are coming out to reveal how they are/have been struggling with COVID-19.

Earlier on it was singer Bebe Cool’s wife Zuena Kirema who narrated how she struggled with the disease and now it is NTV Uganda’s news anchor Andrew Kyamagero. 

During an interview with a local YouTuber Kasuku, Kyamagero revealed that COVID-19 almost took his life. 

“During Ronnie Mcvec’s wedding, it started as simple flue and fever, followed by cough and before I knew it, I had lost taste and sense of smell. I first thought it was a result of fatigue because I was working nonstop, I told my wife to give me some pain killers but the situation never changed. My wife immediately rushed me for a medical checkup but no fever was found.

“Doctors subjected me to COVID-19 and the bad news was my results came out positive and I was take to ICU for oxygen because I couldn’t breathe but the reason most people die is depression. They are scared of the environment, I don’t pray for anyone to be admitted there,” Kyamagero explained.

Additionally, Kyamagero has revealed that he started panicking after seeing a number of people he was within in the ward losing to the battle. He has advised Ugandans to be careful.

“Friends, Covid is real. It is painful and it could devour you. Do not be scared to speak out. Don’t be selfish to stay among your friends when you are sick. Mask up, socially distance, wash your hands, sanitize, let us fight Covid-19 together,” He has cautioned.
