“I was not using drugs, I was using a painkiller” – Jackie Chandiru

While speaking to Boom.ug, Jackie revealed that she was using drugs beyond medical prescription.

Singer Jackie Chandiru is among the Ugandan Musicians who almost lost their lives due to drug addiction. 

The ‘Gold Digger’ singers’ situation had worsened until when she was rescued and taken to Bunnamwaya Rehabilitation Centre to save her life which was on a suicide watch. Months later the “Queen of the Nile” was fully recovered and healthy.

While speaking to Boom.ug, Jackie revealed that she was using drugs beyond medical prescription.

“I was not using drugs. I was using a painkiller and I was using it beyond medical prescription. I was advised that it is addictive but I didn’t listen.” The singer opens up.

On her comeback after addiction mystery, Jackie released two songs “Mi ora Ku” and “Whine it” featuring music doctor Jose Chameleone.

A number of Ugandan Musicians have turned to drugs which have turned their life a mystery. Among the include Qute Kaye, Jackie herself among others.
