“They illegally harvested my kidney,” Kabanda wants UGX 5Bn in compensation from old Kampala hospital

Kidney

Kabanda Muhamad wants shs.5 billion in compensation from Old Kampala hospital over an alleged illegal kidney harvest.

While appearing on the NBS TV Morning Breeze program on Thursday, Kabanda narrated how his kidney was removed from him at an hospital around Old Kampala.

Kabanda narrated that he got an accident while heading his work place. After several tests at Nsambya Hospital, doctors told him he had a fracture on his head.

He adds that he left Nsambya to a hospital around Old Kampala and that’s where he list his kidney from.

“I got an accident on 24th September while heading for work in Owino and got some first aid at the clinic and later went to Nsambya hospital. I had scans on the head at Nsambya and the doctors told us that I have a fracture on my head.”

“We couldn’t meet the bills at Nsambya with my brother and decided to move to Old Kampala. We didn’t find the doctor at Old Kampala that day, then the next day Doctor Mugalu Alex came

“He told us that he is the one to carry out the operation and after I found a bandage on my body and asked the doctor. He told me that he was just removing some piece to solve his problem.

Kabanda says he noticed that he had instead lost his kidney illegally when he went for a scan at Malcom Hospital in Kibuye. To be sure, he went to National hospital (Mulago) and the outcome was the same.

“I went to Malcom hospital in Kibuye for a scan and they told me they had removed my left Kidney at the body part where the operation was made. I then proceeded to Mulago and they told me the same thing.” Narrated Kabanda.

We were yet to hear from the accused doctor by press time. Will have you posted.
