“Big Eye deserved arrest,” Angry UMA’s electoral commission chairman Jeff Ekonget claims

Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) Electoral Commissioner chairman is not happy with Big Eye Starboss’ behavior.

On Tuesday, 28th June 2022, artists registered under UMA were supposed to vote for new leaders.

However, the voting was cancelled due to some reasons like lack of enough funds to support the free and fair voting process something that saw some artists get bitter.

Artists who are said to be King Saha’s supporters are the ones who went at National Theater to show their dissatisfaction with the decision made not to vote.

Those that were arrested was Big Eye and Omukunja Atasera.

According to Jeff Ekonget, Big Eye deserved to be arrested because him personally called Big Eye a night before yesterday explaining to him about everything and he didn’t expect him to be among those people who were rioting.

Jeff said some artists were saying they want accountability but he is ready to give it to them after voting because right now he has nothing to account for.

“I talked to Big Eye before all this arrestings happened and I explained everything. I don’t know how he ended up here knowing the whole truth. He deserved to be arrested for sure.

“We cannot give an accountability report when the elections are not yet done. When the elections are done, we can be able to give an accountability report to NCF,” Jeff Ekonget.
