“I can speak English until its usage is over,” Omukunja Atasera laughs at critics

Singer Omukunja Atasera, who is contesting for Uganda Musicians Association (UMA)’s treasure seat in the forthcoming elections has laughed at critics who claim he can’t speak English.

As artistes are looking forward to deciding on their leaders, many speeches are expected to be made in English so that they can catch up with some artistes and their fans who don’t understand Luganda.

According to Omukunja, he knows how to speak English but struggles a lit bit like any other person because English is not our mother language.

Omukunja said he is down to speak all the English he knows so that artistes beyond Kampala can understand what he is saying so that they vote for him.

“I can speak English until its usage is over. I know am not perfect but I try I am better than most artists. I have to speak English until all people beyond Kampala can understand me because I need votes,” – Omukunja Atasera.
