FINALLY! Police clears ‘earlier cancelled’ Ruger Concert in Kampala

On Saturday, February 12, 2022, thousands of revelers who were set to attended Nigerian star Ruger real name Micheal Adebayo’s Dungu Resort concert in Munyonyo, Kampala were left shocked after it was canceled by police.

The Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Oweyisigire announced the cancellation of the concert 30 minutes to party time.

In the statement released on official social pages, police claimed the organisers had failed to fulfill the required guidelines.

Among these were; lacking a clear traffic plan for revelers, putting in place access control measures, liaising with the territorial police and informing them about the exact number of those to attend, having an ambulance in place for a recognized hospital, putting in place measures for crowd control, and also obtaining clearance from the venue owner and local authorities.

However, police through its social media pages have given green light to the concert to happen today Sunday, February 13, 2022, in the same venue.

According to police, the organisers have met the safety and security guidelines issued to them by Police.
