Eddie Ssendi speaks out on UMA dismissals, Rucci remains defiant despite suspension

Veteran music critic and analyst Eddie Ssendi has come out to weigh in on the standoff between musicians in the leadership of the Uganda Musicians Association-UMA after the latest suspensions.

This comes after some of the UMA top leadership were suspended by the association treasurer Ibrahim Mayanja alias Big Eye.

The suspended members include Finah Mugerwa, the UMA SACCO secretary, Halima Namakula, the UMA SACCO head of loans committee and Isaac Ruccibigango alias Rucci, the UMA SACCO chairperson.

Without giving reasons for their expulsion, the UMA treasurer Ibrahim Mayanja alias Big Eye in his letter revealed that the trio are not allowed to represent the association in any way, saying anyone that deals with them does so at his or her own risk.

However, veteran analyst Eddie Ssendi believes the chaos in the association and on the association SACCO must be as a result of disagreements over money.

He believes the artistes are being dishonest to each other in money issues whereas others want to take more than they are entitled to.

Meanwhile, one of the suspended, Isaac Rucci Remains Defiant, saying he will stay in his position despite the letter of dismissal, saying Big Eye has no powers to fire them.

Phina Mugerwa and Halima Namakula are yet to give their responses to the letter.
