Here is why Bizonto Comedians have been arrested again

The Uganda police have for the second time arrested four members of the Bizonto comedy group on allegations of promoting sectarianism.

The four were reportedly nabbed as they headed for their “Binsanga Wanno” morning show on Radio Simba.

However, according to Charles Twine, the CID spokesperson, the comedians were arrested on Thursday 4th March, 2021 at night and would be making an appearance at Buganda royal court today Friday.

Accordingly, Twine has informed boom gossip that their charges relate to last year’s arrest and detention.

The four members who include Simon Peter Ssabakaki, Julius Serwanja, Gold Kimatono and Marcel Mbabali were arrested over a comedy clip made in July 2020 which authorities believe was promoting sectarianism.

In the clip, the Quartet mentioned that most people holding top offices in the country hail from Western Uganda, an indicator that the ruling government prefers people from the same region at the expense of other regions.
