Vyper Ranking trashes Nigerian musicians, says they are overrated

Over a decade, Nigerian Music has dominated almost the whole of the African continent and it has now gone international. 

Nigerian artists are now having collaborations with big international musicians including Chris Brown, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Justin Beiber, Brandy, Beyonce among others and this has made their Afrobeats a known music genre worldwide. 

In most African countries, Television stations, Radios, Clubs and bars have made it a point to have a variety of Nigerian music on their playlists instead of their local music and this to some people has limited local artists from developing.

It’s against this background that Kenya’s Music and arts President Eric Omondi proposed that all Radio and Television stations in their country play 85{a6adf960b9dc55bb3e49ff07c82daa20469ae533cf096e1b9d27878361bb9db5} of local content. 

Uganda’s renowned dancer Eddy Wizzy also recently vowed never to dance to Nigerian music again and promised to start dancing to only Ugandan music as a way of promoting his own people.

As all this is going on, singer Vyper Rankings has also taken to his Facebook and claimed that Nigerian Musicians are overrated. 

“I don’t know how you will take this, but the WizKids and Burna Boys are just overrated,” He has posted.

It should be noted that the mentioned artists have a record of shutting down the o2 arena, an arena that hosts approximately 20000 people. 

Fans were quick to point out how no Ugandan artist ever have a show at the arena, Vyper said that they will get there soon.
