Dr Hilderman attacks local promoters over COVID-19 funds

Mawokota Members of parliament and veteran Singer Hillary Kiyaga alias Dr Hilderman has come out to launch a scathing attack at local promoters over what he terms as excessive greed.

The singer says these local promoters have taken Musicians for a ride and have ended up pocketing the benefits that should have been received by the Musicians.

The legislator was speaking in reference to the COVID-19 relief funds that were sent out to the performing arts industry which was reportedly selfishly pocketed in large sums by city promoters, leaving Musicians to feed on leftovers.

However, Hildermann insists the musicians were the real beneficiaries and believes city Promoters such as Bajjo, Abtex, Sipapa, Balaam and others were not as affected by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic as the artistes.

Artistes and promoters over the course of the lockdown have been on a collision course as they grumble on who is to benefit more from the government’s generosity and relief towards the entertainment industry.
