On Saturday 27th February artists and fans of struggling singer Evelyn Nabila alias Evelyn Lagu gathered for a car wash fundraising at Papaz spot in Makindye intended to fundraise money for her kidney transplant. According to her an amount of 61 million shillings was successfully collected. 

However fans have showed their disappointment in the sick singer for thanking only a few people and ignoring others. This came after a list of was made where only a few people were included most of them being big artistes.

A one Senga Acid ranted through a Facebook post saying that Lagu is naturally unappreciative which is why in 2020 after getting discharged from the hospital she only thanked Events promoter Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi and president YK Museveni leaving out other people who helped.

“If you were not a big recognized artist like this selfless upcoming musician, ku list ya Evlyn Lagu eyebaza tewawunyeko, that’s the hypocrisy that existed before and currently……mukole nnyo amanya banange awo I just come to take pics and leave and your name will be written…..” She said.

A number of people commented on the post saying that they contributed by were not included on the list hence promising never to contribute again.

“In 2020 when Eve was stuck in the hospital without medical fees, Senga acid called upon social media users and fans of the singer to start a fundraising campaign for her. 

According to Senga Acid, it was due to that campaign that Balaam came out to help the singer too but too but to their disappointment when Eve was thanking people; she only thanked Balaam and Museveni.

However, Lagu has come out to clarify that the list was made by someone else not her. 

The singer has for months been battling with heart and kidney failure complications. She is now set for a kidney transplant which will cost her shs250m. 

Through the recently concluded car wash, shs61m was collected and shs20m pledged.
