National Unity Platform (NUP) president and musician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine has told Ugandans that they should not negotiate with President Museveni over their human rights.
Bobi Wine made this statement following the rumors that have been making rounds on social media saying the release of Hon Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana happened after negotiation with the state.
After spending nearly 17 months behind bars, Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad and Hon Allan Ssewanyana were released. Minister Nobert Mao made a press conference and said he held meetings with the NUP people and they decided to let these two MPs out.
However, it all looks like this was done behind the back of Bobi Wine because he came out and revealed that he knows nothing about the negotiations.
While addressing his supporters on Thursday, Bobi Wine said he can’t and will never negotiate with President Museveni over human rights.
“Let me take this opportunity to make a public statement that we will not negotiate with President Museveni over our human rights,” Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
He even said he hasn’t met Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad and Allan Ssewanyana ever since they were released but he believes they are getting treatment and on road to recovery.
