National Unity Platform (NUP) Omoro District Member of Parliament by-election candidate Toolit Simon Akecha has breathed his last.
Hon Simon Akecha was contesting as Mp in the concluded by elections after the death of Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
According to Bobi Wine, Hon Simon has passed on today 16th Jan 2023 afternoon at St Mary’s Lacor Hospital in Gulu district.
The cause of his death is yet to be revealed however sources say Hon Simon has been battling a strange disease for the past weeks.
Dates about the burial haven’t been revealed yet but we shall keep you updated with every details about it.
“It is with great sorrow that I have learnt of the untimely passing of our senior comrade and brother, Hon. Toolit Simon Akecha this afternoon at St. Mary’s Lacor Hospital in Gulu. Hon. Toolit carried our flag in the recent by-election in Omoro Constituency. He has also been the Acting Head of Policy and Research in the National Unity Platform. This is terrible news! It is very unfortunate that he has passed without seeing the justice and good governance which he so much struggled for, all his life.
Details regarding burial arrangements are being discussed with the family, and will be communicated in due course. May his soul rest in peace,” Bobi Wine posted.
