National Unity Platform (NUP) Member of Parliament Allan Ssewanyana is reportedly fighting for his life in Kigo Prison.
According to reports coming through from Kigo claim that the Makindye West lawmaker fell sick back in December 2022 and is yet to receive professional medical care.
Confidential sources in Kigo Prison told Boom Uganda that Ssewanyana’s condition has drastically deteriorated since the start of the year.
It is reported that authorities at Kigo prison are consulting the Commissioner General of government prison Dr. Johnson Byabashaija to clear Hon. Ssewanyana to be taken to Mulago national referral hospital for better treatment.
MP Ssewanyana was arrested in 2021 together with fellow lawmaker Muhammed Ssegirinya of Kawempe North on cases related to the Masaka killings.
The two MPs’ lawyers have been trying to have them given bail but all in vain.
