Reports coming through indicate that Congolese singer Tshala Muana has passed on.
According to Boom Uganda source in Kinshaha, Congo, celebrated Tshala Muana died today morning. However, by the time we filed this report the cause of her death is yet to be revealed.
Tshala Muana real name Elisabeth Tshala Muana Muidikay was a singer and dancer from Cong-Kinshasa also considered the Queen of Mutuashi, a traditional dance music from her native Kasai region often called “Mamu National.”
She started her career as a dancer for the musical band Tsheke Tsheke Love in 1977 before turning to singing. She is famous for several songs such as Seli Pere, Dezo Dezo, Lekela, Tshibola, Kalume and many more.
She has been known to be a supporter of DR Congo’s ex-president Joseph Kabila and his party the People’s Party of Reconstruction and Democracy (PPRD).
Her music appeared in the soundtrack of the popular 1987 Congolese musical film La Vie est Belle and Aya of Yop City. Congolese online have been mourning her death including former presidential candidate, Seth Kikuni, who thanked her for working great in the contribution to the Congolese Culture.
