Comedian Madrat real name Dickson Lubega of the duo Madrat and Chiko has converted from Christianity to Islam.
Reports come after he took some time off his busy comedy schedule in Zanzibar to take the Shahada in front of Muslim clerics as witnesses thereby proclaiming his new faith as a Muslim.
The comedian opened up about how his Muslim comrades surprisingly have always been throwing a body over for him with financial help and kind gestures till then ever since the demise of his dad.
By the time we filed this report, Madrat was yet to reveal his Muslim name despite all the rituals performed on him like saying Shaada which ushers someone from another religion into Islam.
Madrat is not the first celebrity to change to Islam. At first, it was Jose Chameleone who changed and later returned to Christianity. He joins the likes of musicians Fred Ssebaale, Geosteady, Vincent Ssegawa song others who converted to the Islamic faith.
